and &quot;chat&quot; service<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Information related to social life, socializing, associations, community services<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Free Psychological\/Medical\/Legal\/Educational\/Career Orientation Consultations<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Family mediation consultations and consultations with social contexts in which discrimination may occur<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Checkpoint for rapid and free HIV and STI testing, with counseling services for HIV-infected people<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Intercultural help desk for LGBT+ foreigners and migrants<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We offer accommodation at our facilities for those who are homeless.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>We respond to people&#039;s needs for listening and support<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> who experience homosexual, lesbian, or transphobic stigma or fewer social opportunities because of their sexual orientation or gender identity through:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The network with local, regional and national institutions: in particular, the project is supported and funded by the Municipality of Rome, the Lazio Region and the National Office Against Racial Discrimination<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The network with the system of protection from violence, thanks to the active collaboration with OSCAD, Observatory Against Discriminatory Acts by Law Enforcement, Ministry of the Interior<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Liaising with foreign institutional representatives to foster intercultural dialogue and the exchange of best practices, including for the protection of individuals from other countries.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thanks to the support of the Soka Gakkai Buddhist Institute and the Waldensian Church, we give structure and continuity to our services.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>LGBTIQ+ WELCOME<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Since 2016<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Gay Center establishes and manages the reception of <\/span><b>LGBT+ Refuge,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the first family home in Italy for young LGBTQ+ people who have been kicked out of their homes or are victims of domestic violence, aged between 18 and 26.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The facility features an educational support team and offers shelter to victims of all kinds, providing them with support and identifying personalized programs aimed at achieving autonomy, full independence, and emancipation from discrimination or violence.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>From 2021<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Gay Center manages the reception project together with Programma Integra <\/span><b>\u201cAt Ornella&#039;s House\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a semi-autonomous structure for transgender, intersex and non-binary people in marginalized conditions, aged between 18 and 40.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The facility provides trans* and non-binary people with opportunities to address prejudice and limited opportunities in education, training, and employment, where they lack family support.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>In 2024<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Gay Center has opened a new reception project, <\/span><b>\u201cRefuge home\u201d,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a co-housing facility for LGBTQ+ people, to combat the high rate of homelessness in the community due to homophobic, lesbian, and transphobic prejudice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Through these projects, Gay Center aims to provide a concrete response to the risk of diminished social opportunities due to multiple forms of discrimination and intersectional factors of exclusion.
