The LGBTQIA+ Intercultural Help Desk (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans*, Queer, Intersexual, Asexual and more) offers support and assistance to migrants who face discrimination based on their sexual orientation or gender identity.<\/p>\n

The service provides legal assistance, psychological support, intercultural mediation, and support activities related to political refugee status or international protection applicants based on sexual orientation or gender identity.<\/p>\n

In particular, the service offers welcome and orientation interviews and provides access to the following professional consultancy services:
\n\u2013 legal support in exercising one's rights to remain in the country of arrival;<\/em>
\n\u2013 counseling or psychological support with an ethnographic and affirmative approach;<\/em>
\n\u2013 social mediation in accessing health services, education, training, employment, and housing.<\/em><\/p>\n

In Italy, being or engaging in homosexual or bisexual behavior or living as transgender is not a crime.<\/strong>
\nYou can apply for international protection free of charge if your country of origin has a homophobic or transphobic environment and if you have suffered violence and\/or discrimination.<\/strong><\/p>\n
