Across Southern Africa, LGBTI people remain vulnerable to homotransphobia, persecution, and discrimination based on their sexual orientation and actual or perceived gender identity.\u00a0<\/i><\/div>\n
Malawi, Eswatini, and Zimbabwe have laws that criminalize same-sex relations, with severe legal penalties and arrests documented even in the last three years.\u00a0<\/i><\/div>\n
Laws, stigma, and discrimination expose LGBTI people to violence and abuse at all levels, social, economic, and health.<\/i><\/div>\n
The situation described results in LGBTI activists and their organizations being weak, limited in their strategic and operational capacity, and with few alliances.

The workshop, developed in collaboration with the NGO COSPE, offers an in-depth look at the issue of migration related to discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
We will welcome the story of the trans activist\u00a0Sam Ndlovu<\/b>\u00a0and we will have the opportunity to tell him about our experience with the Gay Help Line service.<\/i><\/div>\n
