{"id":3210,"date":"2025-07-24T13:22:44","date_gmt":"2025-07-24T11:22:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gaycenter.it\/?p=3210"},"modified":"2025-07-25T09:29:14","modified_gmt":"2025-07-25T07:29:14","slug":"aggressione-omofoba-a-roma","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gaycenter.it\/en\/aggressione-omofoba-a-roma\/","title":{"rendered":"Homophobic attack in East Rome: Gay Center calls for an urgent meeting and a binding anti-discrimination policy."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We learned from the press that on July 18, a 23-year-old man was insulted, threatened, and even assaulted by two security guards on duty at the Roma Est shopping center.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gay Center<\/strong>\u00a0expresses outrage and asks\u00a0<strong>an urgent meeting with management<\/strong>\u00a0of the center to define\u00a0<strong>immediate measures<\/strong>\u00a0e\u00a0<strong>a clear and binding anti-discrimination policy by the end of August<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In particular we ask:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>suspension and disciplinary measures<\/strong>\u00a0towards those responsible for the attack;<\/li>\n<li><strong>adoption of an anti-discrimination code of conduct<\/strong>\u00a0extended to all staff and external suppliers;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mandatory training on the rights and respect of LGBTQ+ people<\/strong>\u00a0for security and staff in contact with the public;<\/li>\n<li><strong>a rapid reporting and intake channel<\/strong>\u00a0of episodes of discrimination and violence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Anyone who enters a public place must feel safe.
