{"id":487,"date":"2021-07-13T13:43:54","date_gmt":"2021-07-13T11:43:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gaycenter.it\/?p=487"},"modified":"2021-07-13T13:43:54","modified_gmt":"2021-07-13T11:43:54","slug":"legge-omotransfobia-al-senato-nessuna-ulteriore-mediazione-al-ribasso","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gaycenter.it\/en\/legge-omotransfobia-al-senato-nessuna-ulteriore-mediazione-al-ribasso\/","title":{"rendered":"Homotransphobia Law: No Further Downward Mediation in the Senate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There <strong>law against homophobia and transphobia<\/strong> is preparing to face the <strong>vote in the Senate<\/strong> Between <strong>vetoes<\/strong> e <strong>irresponsible conditions<\/strong> disguised as attempts at <strong>mediation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>It is not possible to accept further mediation on a bill that has already undergone downward amendments during its passage through the Chamber.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This text in fact confirms<strong> Different protections for LGBT+ people (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans)<\/strong> compared to those provided for other discrimination and acts of hate.<\/p>\n<p>THE&#039;\u2019<strong>absence of criminal sanctions for hate propaganda<\/strong> and the insertion of the\u2019<strong>Article 4 on the protection of opinions and beliefs are already critical points<\/strong>, which will not provide protection tools against hate speech or cyberbullying, <strong>who will tolerate LGBT+ people continuing to be called inferior or sick<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, <strong>Article 7 subordinates information and culture initiatives of respect against homophobia in schools to parental consent and approval of the three-year educational plan, as if they were negotiable values, a supplementary and non-essential offering.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>We strongly emphasize this: training in schools supports children who experience violence, relieving them of a situation that jeopardizes their safety and their right to education. It supports teachers and educators, informing them and providing them with tools to recognize and manage risky situations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Let&#039;s say no to further amendments that seek to strip protections from those who are victims of hatred because of their gender identity: let&#039;s say no to those who seek to create a segregating principle for all those attacked, assaulted, and bullied for exercising their fundamental and inalienable right to their identity.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A law against homophobia, lesbophobia, biphobia, and transphobia is and must be a civilized law, far from the influence of ideologies and power games.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We ask the Senators of this country for a protective instrument capable of enforcing the principle of equality that underpins our Constitution.
