In March 2018 the activist and\u00a0President of Action Trans Richard Bourelly<\/b>\u00a0had been invited by the students of the\u00a0Newton High School<\/b>\u00a0from Rome to intervene during the co-management, being also a well-known YouTuber and communicator. The night before, the school principal canceled the meeting for "technical reasons," but the following morning the newspaper reported\u00a0The Time<\/b>\u00a0Journalist Valentina Conti wrote that, according to the principal, the meeting was canceled because the guest wanted to talk about his history with drugs and prison. Bourelly, supported by lawyer Alessandro Cataldi of Gay Help Line and Azione Trans, after four years of fighting, has now seen the truth recognized in court.\u00a0The former director of Il Tempo Gianmarco Chiocci, now director of ADNKronos, and journalist Valentina Conti have been convicted of defamation through the press.<\/b>, for not having verified the source or contacted the person directly before publishing the false news.<\/p>\n
The defamatory newspaper article of March 20, 2018\u00a0headlined: \u201cThe principal invites the trans to teach class<\/b>, he will not talk about that world but will tell his negative experiences" and he said "it is not a story about the trans world, but a meeting in which\u00a0He will talk about his negative experiences such as drugs and prison,<\/b>\u00a0which he managed to overcome\u201d.<\/p>\n
Richard Bourelly, president of Azione Trans, stated: "The lives and work of trans people, especially women, are discredited and questioned almost daily by our media. This includes violating our privacy and using offensive or inappropriate language. I'm happy to have had Gay Center on my side."\u201c<\/p>\n
