Un Poyo Rojo is a "phenomenon show": created in the outskirts of Buenos Aires in 2008, it has since been performed continuously throughout much of the world. Presented in over 30 countries, with an average of 120 performances per year, it enjoys an international acclaim that has not waned over the years. It was born at a time when a bill to legalize same-sex marriage was under consideration in Argentina. At the time, society was deeply divided, fueled by passionate debates, sometimes violent, and fiercely contradictory. The show was immediately perceived as a resistance to any form of constraint by a conformist society. The aesthetic and narrative freedom of the work is the reason for the international enthusiasm it has aroused and continues to arouse.
