Because of the stigma, it is still difficult today to define oneself as HIV+, because it means exposing oneself to prejudice and blame.
With her coming out, Elena Di Cioccio sent an important message, reminding us that an HIV-positive person who is taking their therapy correctly and has an undetectable viral load does NOT transmit the virus.
