Following the organization's exclusion from the Bologna Rivolta Pride, Gay Center expresses solidarity with Polis Aperta (LGBT+ Association of the Armed Forces and Police), which, with its Coming Out program, contributes every day to making Italy a more inclusive and respectful country. The Stonewall riots remind us where we come from, but not where we want to return: today, the goal should be to demand recognition and space within all institutions. Thanks in part to the awareness-raising efforts within institutions, the Gay Help Line, thanks to collaborations such as the one with the Observatory against Discriminatory Acts in Law Enforcement, is able to identify and combat discrimination and violence every day. Pride events belong to everyone, and there is no room for authoritarianism and exclusion: every LGBT+ person and their allies should be able to participate, proudly bringing and expressing their identity and their fight to change this country at all levels.
