GAY HELP LINE CAMPAIGN 2022: WHAT'S YOUR NAME?

CAMPAGNA GAY HELP LINE 2022: COME TI CHIAMI?

The 2022 campaign ends Gay Help Line 800.713.713 and the chat Speakly, with the support from the Lazio Region. The campaign is being broadcast on national TV, radio, newspapers, billboards, and the web.

“LGBT+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans) people often don't find safe spaces to engage with: Gay Help Line 800.713.713 and the chat Speakly.org For 17 years, they have been a safe, anonymous, and free space where people can find listening, support, counseling, and acceptance. #cometichiamomi wants to respond to those who feel invisible and believe that what they are experiencing is insurmountable: everything is faced one step at a time, starting with a phone call or a chat. In the commercial, an operator introduces herself to some people who call the line: we hear their names and see only a detail of their eyes. Until the last boy, Alex, reveals his smiling face when the operator asks him "how can I help you?" The video aims to demonstrate the importance of a relationship of trust for the Gay Help Line contact center, sending a positive message: we are here for you. Anonymity ensures that those who call or write via chat can feel safe and talk at their own pace." Pietro Turano, spokesperson for Gay Center.

“The toll-free number Gay Help Line 800.713.713 and the Speakly chat service are free and accessible via telephone, web or app and respond to approximately 20,000 contacts and requests for help each year. This is thanks to teams of operators, psychologists, counselors, educators, doctors, lawyers, the ability to integrate with local social policies and collaboration protocols with MIUR, OSCAD (Observatory against Discriminatory Acts by Law Enforcement) and with associations throughout the country. The service also received the support of UNAR, Department of Equal Opportunities of the Presidency of the Council, Rome Capital and the Waldensian Church.”" Explains Alessandra Rossi, coordinator of Gay Help Line

“"A safe and accessible space for everyone to help and listen. With the #cometichiami campaign, linked to the toll-free number Gay Help Line 800.713.713 and the chat service Speakly, The Lazio Region continues its commitment to combating all forms of discrimination and isolation. "For the right to be free to be who you are," it declares. Enrica Onorati, Councilor for Equal Opportunities of the Lazio Region

“"Ensuring true and full equality of treatment, leaving no one alone in times of vulnerability, protecting against discrimination and accompanying its victims on a path to new inclusion and empowerment: these are UNAR's primary objectives. For this reason, in full compliance with its institutional mandate and the law, the Office has supported the Gay Help Line, to be at everyone's side, in defense of differences" he declares Mattia Peradotto, Director of UNAR (National Anti-Discrimination Office of the Presidency of the Council).

“"We, as Rome Capital, are happy to contribute to the growth of the Gay Help Line, which is also Rome Capital's first contact center. The presence of safe and welcoming virtual and physical spaces for the LGBTQIA+ community is essential for those who live in our city, and as the LGBTQIA+ Rights Office, thanks also to our collaboration with the Gay Center, we will multiply our efforts in the area." Marilena Grassadonia, Coordinator of the LGBT+ Rights Office of Rome Capital

“"This year, more than ever, we want to reaffirm our presence for anyone who needs help or simply to talk. Let's start by introducing ourselves: Hi, I'm Pietro. How can I help you?" concludes Turano.
