On Monday, March 1st, at 4:00 pm, the mural created for Gay Help Line by street artist Krayon will be inaugurated at the Jonio Metro B station in Via Scarpanto, in collaboration with the Zon Productions agency and the Municipio III of Rome Capitale.

Krayon's pixel art mural depicts a kiss between two girls in the sunlight, and features the toll-free number for the Gay Help Line, 800.713.713. This contact center against homophobia and transphobia receives approximately 20,000 calls each year, offering support and assistance to victims. Together with the Italian Red Cross, it manages the reception of young victims of violence through the Refuge LGBT group home.

"Initiatives like this are essential for the promotion of an inclusive culture, but it is important that institutions and administrations concretely commit every day to supporting projects to combat discrimination, so that associations are not left alone in this extremely difficult battle."”

Turano concludes: The wall is located a few steps from the plaque in memory of Paolo Seganti, to whom the toll-free number is dedicated (the first Roman monument commemorating a victim of homophobia) and before today no public institution in Italy had ever authorised murals with a kiss between two women or two men.
