NONNA ROMA E GAY CENTER: AL VIA LA COLLABORAZIONE E LE INIZIATIVE DI RACCOLTA ALIMENTARE PER CASA FAMIGLIA REFUGE LGBT
Grandma Roma, a voluntary association that works to combat social marginalisation and poverty and
Gay Center / Gay Help Line, a social promotion association committed to protecting the rights of LGBT+ people and supporting victims of homotransphobia, have signed a collaboration agreement, with the support of the Municipality of Rome I within the scope of the actions envisaged by the Community Pact.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Claudia Santoloce, delegate for the Presidency of the Municipality I of Rome, and the President of the Equal Opportunities Commission of the Municipality of Rome. Michela Cicculli at #Rainbowall.
The proximity of our mutual operational offices in the #Testaccio neighborhood will enable joint action against inequalities and intersectional discrimination, benefiting people with fewer opportunities to exercise their social and citizenship rights.
Following the signing of the agreement, the first joint food drive was held at the Pewex supermarket on Via Zabaglia in Testaccio. The drive aims to support the #RefugeLGBT shelter, run by Gay Center and opened in 2016.
Refuge LGBT is the first protected reception facility in Italy that hosts girls and boys who are victims of homophobia, rejected and abandoned by their families.
