In recent years, based on the International Classification of Diseases-11, professional institutions have called for a paradigm shift in health services for trans*, intersex, and gender diverse people. Following the Standards of Care 8 published in 2022 by the American Psychiatric Association, We demand the need for gender-based approaches, both in the relationship between patients and healthcare personnel, and in setting up intersectional, affirmative and multidisciplinary prevention and treatment pathways. The training day includes:
– a focus on the sexual and reproductive health of transgender people: prevention, awareness and appropriateness of interventions
– an in-depth look at the good practices in healthcare relationships with trans*, intersex and gender diverse people
– the state of the art on gender-based right to health: risk factors in the breakdown of the therapeutic alliance. Some virtuous realities composed of health professionals, activists of the LGBTQ+ community and experts, capable of applying an affirmative approach to trans* health, will be presented.
Registration is open to all interested parties and is recommended for healthcare workers.
